What are you Hoping for 2012?

As 2012 approaches, I think of new beginnings, new hopes, dreams and goals.  Of the changes I hope I can make, (like getting organized like I want to do every year).

I've read a lot of fellow bloggers are choosing a word or theme for the year and I'm mulling that over as well as all the dreams I have bouncing around in my heart and mind.  Two words quickly pop into my head:  create and believe.  But....create should be already in practice to begin with, perhaps create more, create more regularly--just don't think it's precise enough though.  Then believe crosses my mind too.  Believe in myself, believe in my art, believe in my dreams...you get the picture.  There's another "but" coming though.  Is "believe" active enough, concrete enough?  I just don't think so.  I feel like I need something stronger that will really get my dreams and wishes moving.  I think I need to state my concrete dreams and intentions for the new year first then perhaps my theme or word will come more easily and obviously.  One of my sweet friends from Flying Lessons suggested making an inspiration board which is a great idea--laying things down right there in front of me.  So that's my next plan, to make a visual of what I want next year to look like.  Recently I read somewhere that your dreams won't come true if you don't even know what they are and writing things down or saying them makes them more real, more powerful.

I'd really love to hear some of your dreams, intentions or theme for next year.  Please share them here if you can.

Thanks for stopping by and happy holidays!  I hope it's filled with peace, togetherness and lots of laughter.

  1. Stating your dream with an inspiration board, what a great idea! I am a believer in writing down your dreams and goals. It does work. My list sits by my desk and I look at it each day. Working my way does the list. Words for 2012 for me ......A New start, new beginnings. I am welcoming the new in my life.

  2. Well, for sure if you don't know what your dreams are, you won't know if they come true! "Create" was going to be my word, now you're got me reconsidering...oh, no! Improve? Grow? (with my luck that one would make me gain 20#!) Fly? Soar? I can't decide!

  3. believing in yourself as an artist is always a tough thing to do. an inspiration board to get you started is a belief in an idea, a perfect place to begin this chapter. can't wait to witness that!

  5. Thanks for your replies--it inspires me to hear what others are considering as well. Janet--sorry to get you reconsidering your word--just my opinion it may work great for you! Lori--peace is a great one for the year--I agree it doesn't have to be business-related at all--that also gets me thinking that I can't just focus on my creative goals--I have other things going on in my life I need to remember that!

  8. Hi Jill wishing you & your family a wonderful Christmas, I'd love to find a word to represent 2012 for me, i will try to think of one, I'm also aiming for a little more organization, but mostly I think i will aim for a direction, I need to get more focused & find my niche, but in doing that remember to be kind & give myself the time to do it. Thankyou for your support in 2011 xx

  9. I don't have one word or a theme in mind, but many ideas floating around my mind. I thought I'd be in a completely different place at the end of this year than I am, so I'm having to really sit with my thoughts and figure out my next moves to have the life I want to live.

  10. Merry Christmas Jill! I'm still contemplating my intention word for 2012 but for 2011 it was " to be present." the year before I spent in a daze, never allowing myself to enjoy the moment but constantly in a state of what's next. I still need to be consciious of it but this year felt much better. Thanks for getting us thinking about this, it's important!
