Flower Love

If you stopped by yesterday you might know that I'm participating in a blog challenge hosted by the lovely Lori Moon and it's all about flowers.  Some of my favorite flowers are lilacs, tulips and peonies, but I love them all!  Yesterday I shared two of my favorite photos I've taken, and today, I'll share one painting I made with a flower as well as another floral photograph.

This one I called "Organic" and is a collage and acrylic painting of an abstract flower dancing in the breeze.

This is from a potted yellow rose we gave to the secretary at my daughter's dance studio who fell and broke her ankle.  I LOVE yellow, just about anything yellow, especially this vibrant rose.

Thank you for visiting today.  What are some of your favorite flowers?  If you have a chance, stop by the other bloggers and see what flowers they are sharing.

  1. Love your collage & painting.
Yellow is my favourite colour too! Daffodils are my favourite flowers, maybe because they herald the beginning of spring and are so cheerful.
Look forward to seeing more of your May Flower challenge contributions!

    1. I also love daffodils for the same reason--love the first signs of spring myself!

  2. Your painting is beautiful. Favorite flowers would have to be hydrangeas and peonies, even though i sketch echinaceas all the time!!!!

    1. Thanks, Deborah! I forgot about hydrangeas--love them too, especially in shades of pink and that bluish/purplish color.

  3. Love our painting - those blues are so pretty together. My favorite flowers...so tough - tulips in Spring, sunflowers to brighten a dark day and echinacea because they remind me of home.

    1. Thank you Lori! Last year I planted sunflowers along the side of my daughter's swing set and they grew amazingly! Thanks for the reminder--need to buy seeds for this year--I love them too.
