Organic - New Painting/College

I've been trying to experiment with more "organic" or carefree paintings and collages and here is one I just finished that I ended up really liking.   Also, I've used the color BROWN too (oh no)--hardly ever do that!

I titled it "Organic" because it just makes me think of going with the flow and the natural world.  I didn't try so hard to be precise and enjoyed layering paint and paper for the background and watching the paint run organically down the picture.  I've probably never used the word "organic" before in my life, so sorry I've said it so much, but that's just the word that popped into mind when I finished this piece.

Hope some of you out there enjoy it!

Thanks for visiting today!

  1. Beautiful work, Jill! Love the colors and meaning behind it. I'm very inspired by this piece and how you just let go and didn't try to make it perfect. Even though it looks perfect to me!

Glad to hear you're having such a wonderful time. Happy creating! :)

  3. Dear Jill, Thank you for visiting me!! This piece is beautiful and the composition and colours suit the organic theme so well! I also love the collaged background with the strips of paper. After I finish my current mandala painting, I also want to experiment with a more carefree and flowing style. Wini xo

  4. I think this has worked wonderfully well, and yes some of the best effects I've ever got in some of my art is through 'accident' and 'experimenting' and then it ends up looking better than I thought. once when ripping something I didn't like off, I got the effect I was looking for! That's what I love about art.

I think 'organic' is great and yes, brown isn't a colour I usually use either, but hey, art is great like that!

  5. Thanks so much, Amelia! It is true, that when you just try something new in a freer manner, but not try too hard, great things often happen with our art.
